Mr Cardinal

Mark has lived in Collinsville all his life, attending school here from elementary through H.S. Always active in sports, he finally was fortunate to get the title Mr Cardinal, through hard work and perseverance. Those same attributes are being called on now - to be tough, keep trying. Mark is trying very hard, and wanting to speak, and more often trying to sit up. He holds out his arms, reaching for an assist. Corale said that today they will work with him by using a voice box so we can communicate with him. Mark was alert last night, and enjoyed a back massage. He is alert to his surroundings and will respond to questions. A nurse told me she asked him what year it was - 200 - ? and he replied "7". He forms silent words, and frowns when you don't understand him. It is difficult on both sides, especially for him. He is being provided for medically, but Mother Nature works at her own speed. It is a slow but steady improvement. For Randy, David - thanks for stopping by. Gene and Kim - you're always there - and more than welcome.
